Back from Cleveland, OH

Well my darling friends - I visited Cleveland, Ohio last week for a Conference, and I thought a good recap would be suitable. I flew out on Tuesday afternoon and decided to NOT pop my Dramamine - since the flight is ONLY an hour and ten minutes. Now people I get motion sickness just swinging on the swings at the park - so this was a huge feat for me. The weather SUCKED on Tuesday so the turbulence was intense but guess what - I MADE IT and I was not all groggy and doped up like I usually am when my flight lands. THANK GOD!!!!!!!

I didn't get to Cleveland until around 9:00 pm on Tuesday - so off I went with my lovely boss to our hotel - we had a nice late dinner at C2 in the Hotel and then headed to our rooms to get some shuteye. We stayed at the Intercontinental Suites Hotel Cleveland - LOVELY. I had a separate living room attached to my King sized bedroom and a nice huge bathroom with a Keuring coffee maker (A MUST) and a kitchenette. It was clean and the turn down service each night was superb - if you are ever in the area - check it out Intercontinental Suites Hotel - Cleveland

So we had the conference all day Wednesday, Thursday, and the morning of Friday at the Cleveland Clinic - what a stellar campus:) Amazing lush greens surround this HUGE campus - gorgeous water features and beautiful rooms for the conference. It was an honor to visit this Health System.

Not all the trip was business as usual - LOL.. We visited the Aurora Farms Premium Outlet Mall - check out the Outlet Mall - it was GREAT!!!!!! I bought a new Coach purse and my first pair of skinny jeans from Michael Kors - WOOT WOOT!!! Now what kind of mother would I be if I didn't bring something home for my bunnies - I bought Elle an adorable pink dress from Gymboree and this awesome white headband - she loved loved LOVED IT!! Wes - well he got a new book - boys clothes are so hard for me - they either have characters on them or the colors are so muted - NOT COOL. I am PICKY when it comes to his clothes and it takes me FOREVER to find anything for him. AND Eric got stiffed - he got nothing - lol... So the outlet mall was a success.

We ate at Austin's Steakhouse one night - we sat outside on the patio - it was such a nice evening. We had lunch at John Q's one day and this adorable lighthouse called  Don's LightHouse Grille  another afternoon - it was great cuisine. I indulged in the Chicken Ravioli - it was heaven.

We visited BA Sweetie candy store - you know me and sweets - YUM!!!! Check it out my dears - SWEET LORDY...

I picked up some nice digs for Wes's b-day party next weekend - going with the bee theme - can't wait!!!

Finally we toured "The Christmas Story" house - it was EPIC. I met Randy - YAY!!!!!! The youngest brother who screamed his head off while going down the slide - it was hilarious to walk through and see the leg lamp..

Randy eating like a piggy...
Okay so Cleveland ROCKED (pun intended Mr. Drew Carey) - I had a great time - the conference was very informational - and I purchased a few fantastic items. Continental airlines got me home safe and my little bunny faces greeted me at the door. Oh 1 more great thing - it was Marine weekend in St. Louis so when I got back to Lambert Airport I was able to stare at some handsome men in their white uniforms - I might be purchasing one of those uniforms for Eric - LOL...

THANKS CLEVELAND!!!

Swim Suit Success

Okay so over the weekend my goal was to find a swimming suit for my 30 year old, mama of 2 body. I have been doing PRETTY well with the baby weight loss - I have 8 more lbs to go and I am pretty happy where I am now... but would be EXTREMELY happy with a loss of 8 more lbs.

So I drug my booty to Macy's and Dillards to find a well-made and long lasting "MOM" suit - LOL... Yep that is right peeps I am ditching the bikini and now will be sporting a TANKINI! I tried on about 20 suits at Macy's and "meh" they all pretty much SUCKED! I did, however, find a super cute pair of black bottoms with these adorable ruffles on them, but I can't go top-less in our backyard (now we are on a corner lot people). HA HA HA!

So I ditched Macy's and headed to Dillards - HOLLA - their selection RULED! I tried on about 20 more suits and I really liked the one shoulder look and the ruffled/skirty bottom. So after trying on 19 suits - I put on the last one and VOILA... I went home with a Jantzen (totally NOT one shouldered or ruffly)...

Mine is shaped like this one but the color and pattern is different and I can't find mine ANYWHERE on the internet - even at Dillards.com - hum... Guess it is a "Mel Original" HAHAHA!!! Mine is an aqua and white top and aqua bottom - super CUTE!!

Well I am officially an owner of a MOM suit and honestly it doesn't feel as hideous as I thought it would - now will I be buying a van next?????

I THINK NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Summer you lovely Bunnies...

Sheer exhaustion...

Okay peeps I am tired - just plain ole tired. I had to get it out there. Tired of...

- People acting nice and then turning around and making rude remarks behind your back (talk the talk peeps)

- Others trying to sell you on their parenting style or child rearing - (my style is the Mel style - like it or lump it)

-  Always wondering what "might have been" or the "what if's" - I need to realize the "what if's" are so over-rated.

-  Eating an un-healthy snack and thinking "well, just place that one on my hip".

-  Cicadas - yes those dang, pesky, disgusting bugs that only come every 13 years - thanks 2011 for being that year -ugh....

-  Trash day being one day off when a Holiday falls in the week - WHAT? Okay yes I forget each time and the trash has to come in at night - so drag out, drag in, and BACK OUT AGAIN. Ugh...

-  Those flower handbands or small bows being worn by girls over 16 - sorry NOT A FAN!

-  LYING!!!!!!! yes just plain ole lying in general. All lies do is cause heartache - who wants to hurt someone's heart - COME ON!!!!!

-  Boys/Mens pants that sag down to their ankles - no-one wants to see that - for realz NO ONE!

-  Neighbors who are outside and don't wave - GET OVER YOURSELVES, waving doesn't equal dinner dates at each other's houses - it is just a friendly gesture.

-  Parents who sit around on their bb's or I-phones at the park/playground/etc... while their child is beating the bajesus out of the kid next to them. COME ON - watch your kids. I know it can be hard and a little "me time" is needed - but just glance up at intervals.

-  Teenage kids who think it is "cool" to use every cussword on the planet when their parents are NOT around - in front of my 4 and 1 year old. CUSSING IS NOT COOL - at least say "What the F" instead of using the real word. ANNOYING and YES I will be calling you out and you will NOT win.

-  People who think it is okay to ask your salary or how much your house was - NOT OKAY unless you are a family member then I tolerate it - I DON'T like it.. I tolerate it because my family is filled with crazies (including myself).

-  Those parents who think their 6 month old is a genius because he/she said "ba" and you tell everyone they sang "ba ba black sheep" in its entirety. Bragging on your kid is a MUST, but be realistic.

-  People commenting on who your child looks like - you or the father - they look like themselves so move on.

Okay I could go and on today - I am on a roll. I am such a sunny positive person but today - I AM JUST PLAIN ANNOYED TIRED..
