Don't Make Me

Hey yo. Hope you all had a great weekend and awesome Monday:) So I have finally come down from my "running pride" high and I am back to reality. I am just a married woman, working full time, cooking, cleaning, and trying to keep my 2 kids and dog alive. HA:)  Oh yes back to the REAL life AND back to the fact that I need to lose 15 lbs. Ugh...

So tomorrow I start my "Weigh in Wednesday" - that means I ate(eat) everything I could possibly eat on Monday and Tuesday so my weight will be at its highest or because I am gluten. Stupid me, but it tastes so darn good. Tomorrow I will step on that ridiculous scale that I have been avoiding for about 3 weeks now. I will be telling the world my weight, frightening to say the least. Whatever though - I am GOING to do it. I don't have enough courage to post my pic though - I guess I could, maybe I will, nah...I probably won't. We will see.

So October 9th will be my starting point. Here are some of my goals for this weight loss mission.

1. Actually get on the scale each Wednesday and post my weight and NO fibbing;)
2. Continue my running routine with one long run on the weekend.
3. Incorporate MORE strength training - more ARM routines.
4. One cheat meal a week - not a whole day or two like I normally do.
5. If I fall off the wagon - don't say "well F it, now I can eat all I want until Monday again".
6. EAT LESS and MOVE MORE
7. Get my mom bum in a bikini next summer and look hot with my girl Kassie from Southern Girl Gets Fit
8. Limit carbs at dinner
9. Feel HEALTHY and HAPPY with myself in my own skin

I still can't bare the thought of looking at Jillian each day. For real I did the 30 Day Shred for 30 days straight a while back and it haunts me right now - "if 400 lb people can do it - so can you". Well yeah maybe JM but right now I would rather drop kick you. I love her and how she pushes you - but dang a lang... So yep not doing her for a bit. I will be sticking to my own routine - you know Eric can always come up with a workout for me - he is good at that. As far as listening to his motivation "consistency is key Mel" - that makes me want to hurl.

So here is to my last piece of pumpkin bread or 5 , my last Hershey Bar for a bit, shoveling icing from the can down my face, munching on Doritos, etc... scarf it down tonight girl - because tomorrow it is ON! I feel like this is my version of the "Last Supper" - sorry guys not a great idea to do this as a comparison but I AM.

OR SHOULD I SCRAP THIS WEEK AND START NEXT WEEK WHEN I START THAT WEIGHT LOSS THING FROM MAMA L?
(I am leaning this way...he he he... no for real)

Hey if you haven't checked out my upcoming races - you can check them out over there on the left. YAY!

Any advice? Any strategies of your own? Anyone want to burn their scales with me?

Have a Rad Tuesday

  1. Girl we don't even own a scale. But I will join you in a couple of weeks as soon as i am cleared. The girls and I are going to do a 5k together! I thought it would be a fun thing for the 3 of us. However I am pretty embarrassed that they are both in way better shape than I am!!

  2. I was just thinking this same thing! I'm trying to lose weight, working out like a crazy woman and still haven't seen much droppage in the poundage - although I'm losing inches! I really need to control my mouth and what I put on my plate! Weigh In Wednesday's sounds like an awesome plan...I might steal! Don't kill me!

  3. You can totally do it!! Just keep that "I ran a half, I can do anything now!" mentality! ... And I am right there with you hoping to wear a bikini next summer! We already have a FL trip planned for late April and I cant wait to live in my swimsuit for a week and be proud! ... I just need to start actually doing some ab work... my most hated activity. Stupid planks!

  5. Oh boy do I need some motivation. Actually, what i need is a swift kick in the butt. I want to give up on RippedIn 30 in a bad, bad way. Just started level 2 and I hate it. Seriously HATE it. I need to figure this thing out. I am so happy for you having the will, motivation or whatever it is to get on the scale and work hard for what you want! You go, girl! (Did I just seriously say that? Oh boy, sorry for the blast from the past!) Good luck on your journey!

  7. Thanks for the shout out girl! We got this...Summer is a while away so there's plenty of time. I admire your bravery and no excuse attitude. I decided last week I would do only one cheat meal a week rather than a whole day, and that was followed up by a weekend of tailgating and cheesefries. Back on it now though! Keep it up, girl

  8. Sounds like an awesome plan! I have been looking into bringing Jillian into my living room, I dropped my gym recently for sky rocketing prices and I need something other than the treadmill in my life!

  9. Ok - when you do Jillian's 30 day shred let me know, I will do it to, because I've been ignoring that dvd sitting on the table for WEEKS! I need other blog friends to hold me accountable LOL. Sad.

The NO CARB thing WORKS! I have my slip-ups (mac n cheese for lunch one day, oh no!), but for the most part I think eliminating pasta and breads have really helped me lose the weight. It's not easy...but I notice I do feel better when I don't eat those items.

I feel the same way about posting my pics and weight#....eek! I debate it all the time...maybe someday I will, just not yet.

  10. Ugh--I failed at Jillian's 30-day shred. Got to level 2 and just got stuck. I can't say I ever wake up in the morning thinking, "I really REALLY want to watch that DVD and kill myself for 25 minutes."

Which is a shame because damn if she doesn't get you results.

  11. I'm totally eating spaghetti and beer bread as I'm reading this. Ha! I need to get my eating in check, too. I got bored with counting calories, so I quit. Typical.

I'm about to start level 2 of the 30DS and I don't mind it too much so far. However, when I bought it a couple weeks ago I was eyeballing a dance dvd by Julianne Hough. Have you seen that girl's ass? I'm thinking it might be my next purchase.
