Thursday - Strength train and 4 miles
Friday - 4 miles
Saturday - 5 miles
Sunday - Strength train and 7 miles
My half marathon training officially starts on Sunday. How in the world am I going to go from 7 miles to 1 mile? What I decided to do is just try to run as FAST as I can for the shorter distances, to up my speed. Here is the schedule I will be following right HERE - just take out the dates and insert start date of January 13th. I will be updating weekly on my progress, speed, achievements, fails, etc.... You know me;)
| Read this, this morning - Yep.. MOTTO... Well my real Motto is "Think like a Lady act like a Boss"... LOL |
I started out, as a young girl, a Philadelphia Eagles fan - don't ask me why? I think I was gifted some Eagles boxers by a boy I liked in the 4th grade, and there lay in the obsession;) Who knows? But yes I adore watching these men tackle each other in those tight pants. I LOVE FOOTBALL - I love FULL ON contact sports - well, baseball is my favorite and doesn't have this - so I guess I just LOVE sports.
Football, Football ERRRRRRRRRRBODY Loves Football
So in the true spirit of Football - I am linking up with the lovely Amy from The Story of Us for her Amy's Super Bowl Recipe Link-up. I just love her - she is so sweet and a genuine GOOD person. I had the privilege of meeting her a couple months ago at the blogger dinner, and I really really really had a fun time with her. If you haven't checked her out - DO - her photo's are amazing and her little boy is a DOLL.

You all know this mama loves her some FOOD... So here are a few of my staples at our Super Bowl parties..
1. Chicken Wing Dip - who doesn't love a good wing and this is a dip - yum!... Recipe HERE
2. Bacon Wrapped Lil Smokies - MEAT!!!!... Recipe HERE
3. Jalapeno Popper Wontons - I make these in the garage - huge mess - but soooo good... Recipe HERE
E loves brats... LOVES them... He soaks them in beer and then bbq's them - they end up looking like this... He adds sauerkraut and French's Fried Onion's on top - when he eats these I want to HURL. Not a fan... not a fan...
Alright there you have it... if you want some good recipes click on Amy's link and find you some. Here is a daily dose of the Waterkotte kids for your viewing pleasure.
Happy Thursday
Recipe's I should know about? Training starting for you? Brat fan?
Aww, you're so sweet Melanie! I had so much fun with you at the blogger dinner as well. You are so hilarious!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up! My husband would die for these brats. We will have to try them sometime soon.
I can't wait to hear about your training! I'll be right behind you in a couple weeks!
ReplyDeleteI want to do my first half this year too!!! I need to get back to my training... and I will start today! :) Bout to head to the gym- I love going at lunch because it helps break up my day!
ReplyDeleteI havent run regularly for a while now, so today wont be 4 miles, but I am hoping for around 2 to get back into it!
Brats gross me out too... and my hubs loves em too!! I usually have him throw a turkey dog or two on the grill for me when he makes those!
JalapeƱo popper wontons sounds great!! You're a freaking superstar with your workouts!!
ReplyDeleteThe whole time I was reading this, I kept expecting a story about how some whiny "brat" ruined a good football game...
ReplyDeleteBrats > bratwurst!
i was wondering what training plan you were doing.... I am doing the experienced runner one from the Go STL website. I do not believe i am experienced by any means, especially running my first half, but the weekly scheduled really follow what I am naturally doing on my own now... with just a longer run on the weekend... I like it because it does 10 & 12 mile runs multiple times... I feel like for me to really kick butt at the half I need to be comfortable with that time period and distance... not a "OMG this is the first time I have ever done this long!" thing... I just am nervous that some weeks the milage is in the upper 30s! eeks! I will just see what I do during the week and make sure I get the long ones in... but another weird thing is that it tells you to train at 1 minute less that your pace on race day... so I need to run at 10 minute miles?! That seems like so hard to do! It throws in some "speed" runs and runs you do at the race pace... but I am interested to see how I do. Maybe so many miles at the slower pace will help keep me from burning out.... Ok. I my brains just exploded here in this comment so I will shut up now! Later girl!
ReplyDeleteFinally!! A girl as as excited as me about football!!
ReplyDeleteYour food (yes, even E's brats) and love of the game make me want to bring my food to your house so we can watch the SB together!!
Who are your picks for going? What I hope is Broncos vs 49ers.
But think it might actually be the Broncos vs Packers.
JUST AS LONG AS IT'S NOT THE PATRIOTS....I HATE THEM!! :)
Ah I love football love love love football. I'm not an Eagles fan at all but my Cousin was a cheerleader for them for 3 years so we had to go to a couple of games... nothing wrong at all with watching those boys run around in those pants.
ReplyDeleteMy dad was the same way :) Every single second the tv was on - there was sports on it :) I miss that! Now, we cant wait to get our little munchkin in to sports - this spring its on :)
ReplyDeleteYou are my kind of lady!! I wish I had bff's that were sports fans. :(
ReplyDeletefor my 22nd birthday(my bday always falls on/around the superbowl), I made everyone go to a huge sports bar to watch the football game - i don't think they were impressed. hahaha I had the time of my life though :D
Da' Bears! Yep, we (and by that I mean my husband) are Bears Fans. I actually like Green Bay but honestly, how would that be if I really invested myself in them while they continued to kick Bear butt? So I try not to tell Andy that one very often. :) I used to like the Bucaneers -- reasons: I liked their uniforms and I thought their coach was cute. Then he got fired and now I could care less about them. Anywhoo, good recipes!
ReplyDeleteIf you and E are ever in the mood for a road trip, you should go up to Bowling Green, MO to visit my dad's store. He sells several different kinds of brats with added flavors and cheese. So good! Or you can check out his website, www.woodssmokedmeats.com. Shameless plug here. :)
ReplyDeleteI am soooo hungry and about to say hell with this last day of no carbs! Your food suggestions are killing me!
ReplyDeleteChicken wing dip is da bomb! I really like this training plan. I have 14 weeks until my half. I think I will start on Sunday and allow for a couple of extra weeks in there.
ReplyDeleteThose bacon wrapped litle smokies look sinfully delicious! Good luck with you rhalf training! I'm on week 6 of Hal's Novice 2. Honestly I can't wait for it to be over so I can get back to doing whatever I want when I want y aknow what I'm sayin?! Do you follow the plans strictly down to a Tee? These shortly little consequetive runs during the week are KILLING me. I hate them LOL
ReplyDeleteThose bacon smokies are no joke. I make those for just about every get together and everyone loves them! Well, that and my cheese ball! Don't tell anyone....but it's like the easiest things to make ever! haha
ReplyDeleteI will be trying the Wing dip and bacon wrapped smokies! Yum yum! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. I am afraid of jalapeno though. Call me a sissy...I don't care! Hahaha!
ReplyDeleteYour kids are so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteGo Rams! Hopefully next year will be a better season. I have no idea what I am going to make this year for SuperBowl. I usually make buffalo chicken dip, but I think I have made it at least 10 times since Thanksgiving, and I am just sick of looking at it.
ReplyDeleteLoving the picture of the babes. So cute!
I'm training for a half in May. I start Monday! Soooooooo nervous! I'm ready to make a change in my life! I'm blogging about my journey, too!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to try the wing dip! And Brats.... YUCK! R loves them too. I cannot stand them, not even the smell.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!!!
I thought that brat was a PICKLE at first... still gross but even more gross if he was eating a pickle sandwich!
ReplyDeleteChicken wing dip is a necessity! My fav! :)
