Fun, Flirty, and Fabulous & some Green...

Are you all like "uh oh, Mel's taking more selfies and posting them"? MWAH HA HA HA HA... I crack me up sometimes...

Anyways this is about a race I will be running next Sunday, February 17th. You can check it out HERE. It is called the Fun, Flirty, and Fabulous 5&5 Race. There are two races going on in Forest Park - you can either run a 5K or a 5 miler. I signed up for the 5 miler. I have honestly never ran this race before or have even heard about it, but I am excited for it. My goal is to finish the 5 mile race in 46 minutes and score a cute shirt and some swag.

Next I signed up for the St. Louis St. Pat's Day 5 miler in downtown St. Louis. It is on Saturday, March 16th. You can check it out HERE. I have ran this race before and it is a blast. I love downtown St. Louis and there are a TON of runners, plus the parade is after the race and you can relax and hang out afterwards. LOVE IT. My goal is to finish this 5 mile race in 45 minutes and score my two free beers:)

Those are the two races I have planned before the big half-marathon on April 7th. I am getting so excited to pound out those 13.1 again - love it. My goal for the half marathon is to finish in under 2 hrs. Now this course is WAY more hilly then my MO Cowbell one in October - so not sure that this is realistic - but I am going with it.

Peace
Any runs planned? Enjoy your free beer after racing? Running the GO?

  3. Wish I lived closer. I would come run the races with you. I'm doing a Freedom Run 5K in March that benefits Wounded Warriors. Then in April (same weekend as your half) I'm doing a race that raises money for my school's PTO.

Maybe after I finish c25k and perhaps become a "runner" I'd love to run a race with you ONE day. And besides you're only like 4 hours away from me. Thanks for the continued motivation girl :)

  8. I have my first half marathon coming up in May!! Yikes!! I'm scared shitless!! But, it's a beautiful run through Vancouver and along the beach, so if I die at least I die in a beautiful setting!! We are ding hill training to ign for the first time, I hope my friend I'm running with bri gs a wheelbarrow to drive me home!! But it's all in the name of health and weight loss!! I'd love to lose more of this baby weight before summer!!

  9. Looks like you've got a great schedule of races! I'm hoping that after this first 5K in May, I'll get that "runner's bug" and want to run a lot more races too. Good luck with all the races!

  11. Those races sound so fun! I plan to do the St. Pat's day race we have in Indy. It's a four miler and last year I couldn't run the whole thing - I remember stopping to walk at least twice. It's gonna be a big milestone for me when I kick it's ass this year!!

As always, can't wait to see the pics on IG :)

  18. You are a running machine! I ran the St. Patty's day race once... Well, I guess I shouldn't say that I ran it. I participated. My husband tried to make me run and I almost threw up. That was my first and only race. I probably should try to run again though...

  21. I rarely drop responses, but i did a few searching and wound up here "Fun, Flirty, and Fabulous & some Green...".

And I do have a couple of questions for you if it's allright. Is it simply me or does it look as if like a few of these remarks appear like they are left by brain dead folks? :-P And, if you are posting at other social sites, I would like to follow anything fresh you have to post. Could you list of every one of your public pages like your twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile?

  23. You crack me up! Good luck on your races. I love the 5K or 5 miler concept. I have never heard of that but it sounds perfect if you are not quite ready for a 10k.

We need that here in Texas!
